Burger Trading is a systematic desk focused on prediction markets and event-driven venues. We are looking for a quantitative trader who can research, implement, and operate strategies in live markets—not hand off notebooks for someone else to productionize.
The role sits at the intersection of research and trading. You will own signal design, portfolio construction, execution quality, and ongoing risk controls for strategies that clear real inventory. Much of our edge comes from models and microstructure—fair value across venues, event market making, and opportunistic arbitrage—rather than discretionary narrative calls.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain systematic strategies across prediction-market and related event venues, from research through live deployment.
- Improve pricing, sizing, and hedging under venue constraints: limits, latency, fees, and fragmented liquidity.
- Monitor live books, diagnose drawdowns and model drift, and iterate with discipline when markets change.
- Partner with the desk on risk limits, capacity, and operational reliability so strategies survive beyond a backtest.
What we look for
- Strong quantitative foundation: probability, statistics, and comfort reasoning about uncertainty under incomplete information.
- Production-minded engineering—Python or similar—and the judgment to ship robust systems, not fragile prototypes.
- Familiarity with market microstructure, electronic execution, or prior work in prop trading, market making, or systematic funds.
- Clear communication, intellectual honesty, and the ability to own PnL outcomes without outsourcing accountability.
How we work
The desk is small and performance-oriented. Compensation is largely tied to results. We favor people who want responsibility for a real book over those seeking a large firm title with limited market exposure. If you care about building durable edge in event markets and are comfortable being measured on live performance, this is a strong fit.
