Burger Trading operates across prediction markets and event-driven venues where sports pricing is a core input. We are looking for a sports trader who can price, trade, and manage risk with the same discipline we apply to the rest of the book—not someone who rides narratives because a team is on television.
This role sits at the intersection of sports knowledge and market trading. You will own line construction, inventory, hedging, and execution across sports-related contracts, while staying aligned with desk-wide risk limits. Edge comes from sharp probability estimates, cross-market relationships, and clean risk management when boards are moving—not from loud opinions.
What you will do
- Price and trade sports markets across prediction-market and related event venues, including pre-game and in-play where liquidity allows.
- Maintain fair values, spreads, and inventory under changing limits, fees, and fragmented venue depth.
- Identify and trade cross-market relationships—related contracts, correlated events, and venue dislocations—without oversizing into thin books.
- Manage live risk when information arrives fast: injuries, weather, lineup changes, and abrupt line moves.
- Work with the desk on position limits, hedging, and reporting so sports exposure fits the firm book, not a standalone side bet.
What we look for
- Demonstrated sports trading or sharp handicapping experience, with a track record you can discuss in concrete terms.
- Strong probabilistic thinking: closing-line value, variance, and when not to trade are as important as finding a number you like.
- Comfort operating under pressure—moving boards, incomplete information, and real inventory on the line.
- Enough technical fluency to work with desk tools, data, and systematic workflows alongside discretionary judgment.
- Intellectual honesty and emotional control. Fan bias and story-driven sizing are disqualifying.
How we work
The desk is small and performance-oriented. Compensation is largely tied to results. Sports trading here is part of one shared book with the same risk standards as our quantitative strategies. If you want accountability for real positions in event markets and prefer being measured on process and PnL over content or clout, this is a strong fit.
